For now there are as ever 2 races (but for now im making Terrans only):
Terran and Syrian.
Terran in my idea are the better in PvP, mining and faster builder... In a word: Workers and Soldiers!
Syrian have psionic skills, kinda immortal if distant from enemies, can call inverse hyperspaces (a secret what i mean)... In a word: Scientists and strategists.
Do you like this idea? want to change something?
Want to suggest skills? skill mechanics and so on?

umm i do hope that the psionic abilities for syrians are not over powered , it should be something like reduce cooldown for ship cannons skill or make ships move faster skill , definitely not a make it rain hell on the enemies base skill XD . -

No way i try to balance the game ...
for example:
Syrian weaponry = best damage worst rateo of fire...
Terran weaponry = best rateo worst damage.
Or Shields..
Syrian = best defences
Terran = best DPS
In all my idea Syrians are calm people that canalize single accurate shots, Terran instead are Minigun people XD Fire at will to everything moving.
Still a basic idea

also , would there be something like subraces? such as terran would have soliders and workers and people who specialize in operating vehicles , something like team fortress 2 , maybe make it like anyone can fire a gun but soliders would do more damage/less reload time , good idea?
